Ok. Take government completely out of healthcare. No rules. No laws. No Medicare. No Medicaid. Hospitals, insurance companies, can do anything they want. What do they do ? If you were running any of the biggest insurance companies or hospitals, what would you do differently once gov was completely out of healthcare ?

@mcuban @vines_6 No they don't. Self-pay rates are 6-8x commercial rates and way more vs Medicare / Medicaid. Self-pay net charge-off rates are 50%. Acute care has to charge far higher prices to self-pay patients to generate the returns they get on commercial payers.

Many professional investors will agree the faster a bad business grows, the less it is worth. I find few who can express that mathematically. The k - g term is the biggest mathematical and cognitive error.

Nobody actually buys new Aeron chairs in SF. Every Aeron chair was created in a one-time Big Bang event during the first dotcom boom in 1999, and has been passed along from failed to new startup in an uninterrupted 30 year chain. It’s the Law of Conservation of Aeron.
