@RandomIdeas03 @NOMANCANSTOPME @kakemakes It's not about being a fan of Ethan. It's because Ethan was an expendable character that they were able to tell the heartbreaking tragic story they did. They aren't going to kill of Chris, Jill, or Leon, for example, and wouldn't be able to tell that kind of story with them.

The same crowd of people complaining about this movie are conveniently forgetting RE7's existence and how it brought the franchise back in the limelight without featuring ANY of the core characters til like the absolute end for 5 sec+later DLC.

@RandomIdeas03 @NOMANCANSTOPME @kakemakes It had everything to do with a new protagonist. All the awful shit that happens to Ethan, including the resolution to his tragedy in RE8, wouldn't have happened with a legacy character because those need to be protected. It had EVERYTHING to do with Ethan.

@NOMANCANSTOPME @kakemakes There wasn't a "need" for that, all they needed was good gameplay and writting, and that had nothing to do with a new protagonist that had 0 connection with the past. You can see it was a mistake because of how Leon is back again after just 2 games.

@RandomIdeas03 @kakemakes Be for real man, RE7 was popular BECAUSE it was a massive departure from what the franchise had done before. The game NEEDED to distance itself from the rest of the series because 6 was such a massive failure, and many fans had been disillusioned since 5 jumped the shark

I have a theory about how the Wish works in Obsession. Four people have used it: the shop owner, Ian, Bear and Wish Nikki. Almost every wish seems to work exactly as intended.....except Bear’s. Ian wished for a billion dollars calmly, and got it. Wish Nikki and the shop owner also got what they wanted. But Bear made his wish out of desperation and selfish intentions after denying that he liked Nikki. So maybe the Wish itself isn’t evil. Maybe it grants wishes based on the emotions and intentions behind them. A calm wish is granted as intended, but a desperate wish can come with consequences. Bear didn’t get a “bad wish” he simply got exactly what he wanted, and was forced to face the consequences.

I feel like the show itself is going through a redemption arc. It's fun to watch, the animation is really good, the jokes land, and the writing is just better. I've really enjoyed this new season.
