@zwolf59661 @anthrocon You can book a new room. When you're set and done, just cancel the other booking.

@anthrocon I know the initial policy was one room per registration ID... But if availability opens at my first choice hotel, can I book a room there, while still holding my backup reservation?

We're aware that many of our attendees were not able to book rooms because our booking partner's system not holding rooms, despite being assured otherwise. We sincerely apologize, and we are doing our best to correct this - we are as frustrated as attendees are.

If ANYONE gets a room in the Westin for Anthrocon tomorrow morning and you decide you don't want it anymore (for example, because you and your friend both get rooms and you want to room together), PLEASE message me! Not expecting anything but still. Don't throw the room away! :)

A reminder that as previously announced, we've closed our online pre-registration temporarily to prepare for our General hotel opening. We'll re-open on February 2nd at 11 AM Eastern with regular pricing, and hotel booking links will be included within confirmation emails! 👍

@anthrocon is it possible I'll hear back about my waitlisted reservation before the general opening? I'm surprised by how quickly Wednesday was snapped up.

@MaePigeon @anthrocon There will not be a deposit taken before check-in this year. A credit card is required. Whether a debit card will work, email help@orchid.events for the best answer to that.

@ClownCarCritter Sorry someone gave you the spook. Glad we have great communication, though. Sounds like a staffer outside of media dept less familiar with filming there during their downtime. We'd love to work with these artists to give tools and considerations to film without panicking anyone.

@Randorn Unfortunately I couldn't read their badge name. They 100% had a staff badge on tthough. But they were taking lots of videos/pics of @LionBoyTank and some people they were with. But not sure if they'd know their name either?

While we continue to wrap up our 2022 post-convention, our leadership team would like to address a high-priority issue that we know attendees are concerned about. We're actively working on doing better, and hope you'll give us the opportunity to do so.

@pandaparfaitart No one should be yelling at you, either. Don't know whether another overenthusiastic handler, or some overzealous security. We did make sure considerate photos were allowed, afterall. We're just regular attendees, and no one should be killing a vibe.

@pandaparfaitart @ClownCarCritter Only when everyone in view is ready. I'd love to know who. No staff is privileged. The media department already vacated to street earlier. Even daftly pointing lens into crowds to review settings or past photos makes everyone uncomfy. Photos, though. Gives all of us a bad name.
