Nick Emmanwori Injury update: Diagnosed with a low ankle sprain, as opposed to a high-ankle sprain. Based on how he was walking last night in the video released that I discussed this morning, a high-ankle sprain was unlikely. The important thing to understand is that a low ankle sprain doesn’t necessarily specify if it is medial or lateral. Lateral is much more common and not overly concerning. Medial (inner) is not as common and much more concerning. The deltoid ligament is the strongest ligament in the ankle and if that is severely sprained most guys really struggle. This is the ultimate game so he’s going to likely try to play, but my concern is that he will be less effective, limited mobility and stability, and have less explosiveness/twitchiness.
