I’ve noticed this for years. Remember when all the media was talking about how movies like Black Panther would open the floodgates for black filmmakers, only to have Spike Lee’s next film to go straight to Netflix with little fanfare.

it occurs to me that people who preach values of inclusivity and diversity also just…don’t watch movies from other places. I don’t think that’s ironic or hypercritical or anything. but it’s just…odd.
