Splatoon 3 Team Rankings

New system for 2023: - Only 2023 tourneys will be looked at - Our matchup chart find what tourneys teams have in common and will look at placements in those events to determine who progresses further on average - Probably no ranking pickups - Low level expansion?

The rankings will be taking a hiatus for at least December. I have an idea for a less time-exhaustive system that I may switch to in the future. While the current system is partially automated, it still takes more time than I'm willing to give - Roundy

We're open to tweaking the system in future months. As of now, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a team to play 4 tournaments over 3 months, and believe this problem will dissapate as we have more top level events as seen this weekend.

I anticipate some criticism of the placement of a few high-level teams. The system used only factors in your best 4 tournaments for points calculation, so teams that had not played 4 tournaments, or have decay on some of their tournaments may be slightly lower than expected.

The monthly rankings will be on hiatus for now (the time investment for the project is currently too big to continue on a monthly basis). However, we have other projects we hope to show in the future. Hopefully January?

For this month, any team that played an event will be eligible for the rankings. Since there isn't a 2-tourney pre-requistie to weed out pickups/non-teams, we have to manually make a list of "real" teams and solely use our time compiling their results.

As always, there have been some teams lower in the rankings already making big strides in the first week of July. Also, we weren't sure if we should group Backpink and Starburst together this month, so you can think of @puredivinityspl as honorary top 20.
