As a Latino, i’m convinced Korea isn't a victim anymore, they just learned too much from imperialism. They decided to industrialize their own identity until they stripped away anything serious or deep you could actually find there.

discussions around korean music will never be fruitful bc americans will never be able to understand korea. the two nations are inherently incomparable. also to fairly analyze korea, americans must first acknowledge their role in the world as americans, but that will never happen
