I am glad to share our latest article on the global genetic diversity of planktonic foraminifera: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…. We have put together all genetic data produced over the last 3 decades to show the true extent of the biological diversity of planktonic forams.

Asexual reproduction in planktonic foraminifera is rare (3%) but at the base of their success in polar regions. Our last study tells you more and opens new perspectives, showing one can obtain multiple reproductive events in lab. conditions! @marum_de academic.oup.com/plankt/advance…

I am very happy to share our last research published at @NatureComms. We used the @TaraOceans_Sci metabarcoding dataset to show that benthic forams disperse in the plankton and could quickly (re)conquer the plankton after end Cretaceous biological crisis.

My last 5 weeks at sea in the Baffin Bay and culture work led to mass reproduction in planktonic foraminifera - 29 events and great growth from the offspring. I couldn’t be happier! Now is time to write that down! #msm111 @marum_de @UniBremen

2 weeks on #msm111 and already 8 asexual reproductive events with my planktonic forams. Took me 4 cruises and > than 3 yrs of repeated observations and work to get there - what a blast to see them pop offsprings again and again @marum_de @UniBremen thks @Raphael_Morard for pics
