The most backward decision in international football. Whose wisdom was that? Morocco have been declared winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 after the CAF overturned the result of their final against Senegal. #CitiNewsroom #CitiFM #GhanaNews

The government once announced that the Growth and Sustainability Levy on gold mining companies would increase from 1% to 3%, and royalties from 5% to 12%, claiming it was necessary for Ghana to finally receive a fair share of the billions generated from our gold resources. Yet, after intense pressure from powerful international mining corporations, the same government is now moving to cut the levy back to 1%. This raises serious questions about whose interests are truly being protected. While ordinary Ghanaians are burdened with rising taxes, utility tariffs, and a high cost of living, multinational mining companies appear to be receiving concessions on the very resources extracted from our land. Ghana’s gold belongs to the people of Ghana. It should fund development, jobs, infrastructure, and national prosperity—not be negotiated away to protect foreign corporate profits. If the government can demand sacrifices from its citizens, it should have the courage to demand fairness from the multinational companies profiting from our natural wealth. #GRAMMYs

@JDMahama Mr President, pls tell the Minister of interior to refund the Application money to the venerable people he disqualified. If you don’t have jobs for people, don’t extort from them. We don’t want thievery in our country. Thank you for understanding!

National Chief Farmer of Ghana and President of the Ghana Cocoa, Coffee, and Shea Nut Farmers Association (COCOSHE), Alhaji Alhassan Bukari has urged cocoa farmers to unite in support of the government and COCOBOD, emphasizing that the current drop in cocoa prices is part of a global crisis. He encouraged farmers to remain hopeful, highlighting the importance of collective resilience for a stronger recovery.

Dear Sir, did you also announce at the session that you deceived cocoa farmers; you promised to pay them 9,000 cedis per bag, when you got power you rather paid them 2,500 per bag? Did you tell them that exactly a year ago, your friend and chief of staff signed a letter asking over 100,000 Ghanaian youth who were duely recruited to go home? Did you also tell them that you grew the Economy by 4.2 when your predecessor had left it at 7.2 for you? Did you also tell them that you are still campaigning instead of walking all your promises ? Did you tell them you refused to post college of education trainees who are bonded with Government, instead you are doing secrete rucretment of NDC members? Mr. President, in simple terms, you are incompetent. Thank you for understanding!

As I announced during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in September last year, I have initiated processes to table a resolution at the General Assembly in March this year, seeking global recognition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade as the gravest crime against humanity. Reparatory justice will not be handed to us. Like independence, it must be secured through unity and determination. In my report to the Assembly of the African Union Heads of State this morning on advancing the cause of justice and the payment of reparations to Africans and people of African descent, I observed that 2025, designated as the African Union Year of Justice through Reparations, has marked a turning point. We have established the AU Coordination Team and Committee of Experts on Reparations, engaged global institutions from the UN to UNESCO, led conversations at major international fora across four continents, and reframed reparations as forward-looking instruments for justice and equity. But our work is far from over. I called on all Member States to strengthen our institutions, establish national reparations commissions, and engage with the global community to secure apologies, restitution, and binding agreements.

I received a special gift of the UN Charter in all six official languages from UN Secretary-General António Guterres in Addis Ababa today. It is a powerful symbol of our shared commitment to multilateralism, peace, and international cooperation. It also reflects a meaningful gesture and the UN's continued partnership with Africa and Ghana. Our discussions centred on critical issues facing our continent, particularly the security challenges in Africa and the Sahel, as well as the imperative to consolidate democracy across Africa. We also discussed regional peace initiatives, including the instability in the AES countries. I am grateful for the Secretary General's assurance of UN support as we prepare to assume the AU chairmanship in 2027.

Incompetent leadership at realms of affairs. Tell the president at the meeting that Dumsor seems to be back. And electricity tariffs are way too high for normalcy. Also remind him that he still owes the newly recruited teachers and Nurses their 11 months salary due them. Finally, ask him whether he bought fugu for anyone to declare Wednesday a fugu day. We don’t want nonsense!

Mr president why did you refuse to pay our gallant cocoa farmer ? Why is our cocoa prices higher than others? Why did you refuse to pay the newly posted teachers and Nurses their 11 months of arrears? Mr president everywhere is strike, you refuse to pay workers their monies owed them, yet you have money to distribute 3,000 cedis, motorbikes, 32 inches TV and boiled eggs to each of the 1,300 delegates of your party members in Ayawaso East? This is unfair and it’s unfortunate!
