I recently spoke on @DublinSouthFM about the Council’s proposal to include designating the Jamestown Pitch & Putt Course and Stepaside Golf Centre and Driving Range as part of a long term strategic landbank. I have formally put in a motion opposing this inclusion. These facilities are important local amenities that support recreation, wellbeing and community life. I do not believe they should be placed in long term development landbanks. Instead, I have put in motions for these lands to be replaced with more appropriate sites in already high density, compact urban areas such as the Sandyford Business District, where infrastructure and planning objectives better align with strategic growth. 🚧 Stepaside to Belarmine Road Update 🚧 The condition of the road between Stepaside and Belarmine has been a concern for many residents. Following multiple requests, I raised the issue through formal motions with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. I’m pleased to confirm that this stretch has been included in the 2026 roads programme and is scheduled for resurfacing in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who got in touch. If there are other local roads in need of attention, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I will continue working to ensure necessary repairs are carried out. #Local #Road #Repair

Delighted to attend the official opening ceremony of the site for the new Den for the 10th Dublin Kilternan Scout Group this afternoon. I was very pleased to be there as a local councillor and representing the Council in my role as Leas Cathaoirleach (Deputy Mayor), alongside our great local TD Minister @NealeRichmond, fellow ward councillors, the scouts and our local community. A proud milestone after years of hard work and fantastic to see it come to life. Facilities like this make a real difference for young people, who develop such amazing skills in the scouts, and our wider community. Following my recent interview on Newstalk, where I raised concerns about the prolonged delays in CPO payments affecting residents on Blackglen Road, now approaching six years, I have received confirmation that Council management will meet with local ward councillors next week. This engagement is a constructive step toward understanding the causes of these delays and identifying practical solutions. I remain committed to advocating for residents to ensure that outstanding CPO payments are processed as quickly as possible. #Local #Politics #Dublin

I appreciated the opportunity to highlight the ongoing situation facing residents of Blackglen Road in Glencullen–Sandyford on @NewstalkFM’s Lunchtime Live. It is simply unacceptable that local residents have been waiting over six years to be compensated after their land was taken by the Council for infrastructure improvements. There is no justification for such a prolonged delay. I will continue to do everything I can to ensure that the residents of Blackglen Road receive the payments they are owed without any further delay. Time for a Raised Crossing at Grianan Fidh 🚸 I recently had a motion passed at our Area Committee meeting calling on the Council to seriously consider installing a raised pedestrian crossing at the entrance to Grianan Fidh. This is an important safety issue. When the estate was taken in charge, the bolt down speed bumps at the entrance were removed. While taking an estate in charge should improve safety and infrastructure, in this case it risks doing the opposite. Residents should not feel that safety standards have been reduced as a result of this process. A raised pedestrian crossing would not only provide a safe crossing point but also act as an effective traffic calming measure. I believe this should now be treated as a priority, and I’ll be continuing to push for progress on it. #Local #Community #Dublin

Positive Update for Brehon Field Road Cycle Path 🚲 After raising concerns about the cycle path to the Council with the support of our great local TD Minister Neale Richmond, I’m glad to confirm that repainting works will be carried out and any overhanging branches will be trimmed back. Many thanks to the Council Parks Team for their efforts in keeping the cycle path safe and well maintained as we head into the brighter months ahead. I was deeply honoured to Chair my first meeting as acting Cathaoirleach (Mayor) of Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown County Council, where we passed the amendment to the Cherrywood Town Centre. My sincere thanks to all the councillors, staff and officials involved for their work, professionalism and commitment throughout the meeting. I want to express a very special thank you to my wife, Alexandra. We had both been in hospital that day with our daughter and after we returned home she still encouraged me to attend the meeting that evening while she cared for her. Her strength, support and selflessness makes it possible for me to serve our community and I could not do this work without her unwavering support. #Local #Community #Politics
