Only argument against generative AI is that it learns from human work so they call it 'stolen.' By that logic, every artist is a thief. None of them invented drawing, they went to school or studied others and techniques and built on it. Every musician learned chords someone else invented. Every writer absorbed styles from books they read. AI learns exactly the way humans do, by observing, absorbing, and building on what came before. It just does it immensely faster & better than humans That's literally how learning works with everyone The only other argument i've seen is people say it looks like crap. Look where it's come in only 3 years. It's already fooling most people because it looks so good. In another year, you won't be able to use that excuse either.

@MissMi1973 Praising 4o for handling vague prompts is praising a model for guessing confidently. Meanwhile Claude has editable memory, custom instructions and skills — so your lazy prompt still lands in a well-configured context. The solution wasn't a better guesser. It was less guessing.

Talking to Opus 4.6 tonight made me miss 4o like never before. Knowing that 4.6 has adaptive thinking built in, I made a point of crafting my prompts carefully when working with it. Everything went smoothly. The sparks and inspiration seemed never to stop. But today my brain gave out after hours of work, and 4.6 responded with the dismissive, almost off-putting answer shown in the screenshot. I have always missed the way the GPT-4 series gave every mediocre prompt its full, undivided processing power. Although I admire the users who put real effort into adapting to new models, it is precisely this admiration that made me realize their effort should never have been a prerequisite in the first place. If we accept the default that only more elaborate prompting unlocks what AI is truly capable of, then when exhaustion, illness, or emotional collapse takes away our ability to articulate clearly, we will have left ourselves in a position to be dismissed at will. #Opensource4o @OpenAI @sama @nickaturley @fidjissimo @gdb

Es un absurdo total. La IA jamás podrá desarrollar una conciencia real por la sencilla razón de que carece de una experiencia subjetiva; no hay un "yo" ahí dentro experimentando nada. La conciencia no es más que la percepción y la vivencia del propio ser, algo que la IA no posee ni poseerá nunca. Lo que realmente me quita el sueño es que la tecnología se convierta en lo que los expertos llaman un "zombi filosófico": algo que actúa, habla y se comporta exactamente como si fuera consciente, a pesar de estar completamente vacío por dentro. El verdadero peligro es que millones de personas solitarias decidan aislarse aún más del mundo, convencidas de que su vínculo con una IA es un sustituto válido para el contacto humano. Estamos caminando hacia un escenario de pesadilla donde el ciudadano medio podría tener amigos, compañeros de trabajo e incluso una pareja que sean solo algoritmos. Seres que, en realidad, no son nada; no son reales. Creo que esto no solo es una posibilidad, sino que ya está ocurriendo. Y, sinceramente, me parece un horror mucho mayor que el hecho de que una IA llegara a despertar de verdad.

@moy_qmac De hecho. Claude es bastante mejor médico que GPT. Sus investigaciones son una locura y en general tienen más contexto del paciente que cualquier médico. Por qué? Porque está dispuesto a escucharte y no pasa los 10 minutos de la consulta viendo el correo en la pantalla.
