Question, genuine: Why have Halo studios chase trends like this rather than keep them focused on mainline games and licensing out the IP to other studios for spin offs under the supervision of a franchise team?

Having an SFW character engage in NSFW works and themes doesn't diminish the overall quality of the character on puritan merit alone. Likewise, characters primarily featured in NSFW works are allowed to have stories and art outside of them getting piped.
