"The Founders established a national right to keep and bear arms, not to ask for permission from hostile local officials or risk imprisonment for crossing the wrong state line," Lee says. But his bill wouldn't be absolute. Private properties and secure government buildings could still prohibit guns, and people who are not legally allowed to own a firearm would remain barred from carrying one. The National Association for Gun Rights lauded the bill as "the only legislation that will restore the right of all law-abiding Americans to carry a firearm in every state without having to beg for government permission."

If I crossed into Massachusetts accidentally with my standard self defense carry weapon, they would lock me up as a felon for over 20 years. For accidentally crossing their state line with a completely legal firearm. The court needs to rule that traveling through a state temporarily doesn't bind you to their trampling of the constitution.
