@Ravens_andcrows @sd_and_anime @gomanga @jupy314 I have to agree with the you, there’s a lot of slang in it that feels out of place and ruined the immersion. Even if the original has slang it could’ve been handled better so it won’t be dated the second it comes out.

@sd_and_anime @gomanga @jupy314 Yep! In the first volume. The translation isn't bad, but the usage of American concept meme feels really out of place. And that too in a book set in China, written 10 years ago.

i know capitalism is absolutely destructive for art but seeing publishers completely butcher translations, refuse to listen to reader feedback and make any changes, and insist upon their decisions is particularly upsetting when ur essentially at their mercy for said translation
