A federal government theoretically doesn’t need to exist, authority over national power ought to be subdivided equally between the states, even where some states have a significantly smaller population than others, because having a higher population already has major advantages, they don’t need proportional power in addition. A federal assembly is there for states to represent their populations interests in due context of the national purpose, that’s mostly about balancing power, a federal government defies that balance by nature.

@Peter_Fitz But can you convince India and China to do that? They are very proud of their respective histories in being a singular nation, even with state or provincial subdivisions.

@Peter_Fitz As for China, it needs both, break it down into independent nations and make each of them a federation. It's really the only way, smaller nations that have a balance of power through state autonomy in a federal union.

@Peter_Fitz I don't think the concept of making your nation great is a bad thing in any sense, the argument is entirely based on association, not substance.

The other point being, a President isn’t required to administrate, especially if they aren’t suited to a case, there is the obvious executive decision factor in emergency or time sensitive cases, but even that requires some level of consistency with legal principles and would be open to retrospective review. The main role of a King or President in a federation would be to defend the little guy against the powers that be, making the position genuinely of the People.

Monarchy is better than republic, and Federation is better than Unitary, there’s enough data on all four variations to conclude that. A Federation subdivides authority over national power between states in a union, which is why a nationwide two party preferred doesn’t work, federal theory requires a division between five or more states, a two party system in DC hacks that mechanism by aligning each state with one of the two nationalist political factions at any given time. Federation doesn’t require a King to micromanage the country, it cordons off the authority of the monarch to what they are qualified to do, King David was a military mind so led the army, King Solomon was a civic minded person so became a Judge, King Herod Antipater was utterly useless in all aspects of administration so sat in his palace watching his daughters strip-teasing. Point is, you don’t hire a moron to do anything unsuitable for morons, be that through the authority of the Crown or the People, it’s ignoring the first rule of law, no one is above it.

I'm at a loss for words... Superman was an undocumented immigrant shot to Earth in a spaceship. Trump would’ve had ICE waiting on the landing pad. Superman fought corrupt billionaires like Lex Luthor. Trump is Lex Luthor, minus the genius. Superman lifted people up. Trump cuts school lunches, healthcare, and food assistance—so his billionaire buddies can buy bigger yachts. When you betray your base, sell out to Epstein’s pals, and tank the country, I guess all that’s left is to slap on a cape and pray the cult still cults.

“The science of government is my duty to study more than any other science.”~John Adams. Indeed, and in that science, five relatively equal powers are required to check and balance each other, the old adage comes to mind “Who watches the Watchers?” they watch each other as the primary threat to each other, but that balance only applies to five or more. A singular global authority is impossible, so stop trying to create one.

The direct impasse is the fact that if some authority could enforce global laws, nations would no longer be independent, and they could start blaming the global authority for their problems. On top of that is the obvious fact that a global authority would have no real checks and balances, because there’s not at least four other planets of equivalent power to ours.
