@_gringuinho_ @FCDallas @lukamodric10 @MLS In my short time of following FCD ( since 2022) It's obvious this is a for profit franchise, it's not a club. Musa has been great but everyone knows they're going to sell him within a year.

Imagine for a minute if @FCDallas had signed someone like @lukamodric10 for the 2026 @MLS season. He's an incredible player and could absolutely impact games even at his age. But the same FC Dallas/MLS critics filling my timeline with praise for Atlético Dallas today would be calling it a "retirement league" signing and clowning FC Dallas for bringing in a retiring European star. The reality is both of these things can be true: 1. FC Dallas already has Petar Musa, the current Golden Boot leader, a World Cup scorer for Croatia, and a proven top-flight European striker. We also know Musa's not bringing butts in seats just off of his name power alone. 2. Atlético Dallas signed one of the biggest names in world football who is coming out of retirement. It's a tremendous marketing move, even if he likely won't be playing all 90 minutes every single match. I also bet that he is expected to have an ownership role as part of the deal. You can appreciate today's announcement without pretending only one club is making smart moves.

@3four3 Anyone who regularly watches MLS know it's a franchise. It's a for profit league, only a few "clubs" actually spend money.

Regular PSA, until you get it: There are NO "clubs" in MLS. The teams are nothing more than geographically separated offices of the single entity that is MLS. Until one understands this, one is lost. It doesn't matter that the single entity, MLS LLC, calls them "clubs", or that its muppet "reporters" perpetuate that. They do so since the entire legitimacy of a competition - any competition - rests on it being comprised of totally separate entities (certainly not part of the same company) fighting each other. Again, until one understands this, one is lost.
