Hi @reigatebanstead - there has been a temporary fence across the front of Reigate Priory for many months. Can you confirm if this building is being maintained in line with the listing requirements?

@ReigateRabbit In answer to your question the SCC spend to end of September was £2,42 million purely on Woodhatch Place school planning matters. This expenditure will continue unless stopped.

Surrey Council are delaying the planning application for Reigate Priory school until 2025. I’d love to know how much they’ve spent on this in total so far. Meanwhile the ceiling fell in one of the existing classrooms, windows are boarded up when smashed. surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-le…

@ReigateRabbit Maybe the new Chief Exec has established the competency levels of certain employees and has decided that it is appropriate to take stock and reconsider the background for embarking on a very expensive flawed proposal.

Well done to The Reigate Business Guild for objecting to the RPS relocation to Woodhatch Place. SCC have a duty to listen to the community it represents and act accordingly.

A ‘brownfield’ development opportunity exists at The Priory by replacing 1950’s buildings with a 21st century DfE compliant school. SCC however believe it is better to destroy the historic RBBC protected garden and woodland at Woodhatch Place.Please oppose this stupidity.

@GaryerEve @stopthemove_rp If SCC act in accordance with their fiduciary duties to residents they should undertake a financial reappraisal of the options available and proceed with the most cost effective solution - The Priory!

Heard on the grapevine it won’t be October either, partially due to the sad collapse of ISG (the appointed building contractors) and SCC needing to consider the implications of this

ISG who was SCC’s chosen contractor to design and build the new school at Woodhatch Place have gone bust! I guess the £1 m plus they have been paid to date is down the drain!

There are interesting letters of objection to RPS relocation on RBBC,s planning portal. Worth the time to read and if you haven’t made representations,there is still time.
