The problem is, is that people think there is actually a such thing as alpha males... the concept derived from the incorrect observation of wolves is captivity. David Mech made that incorrect observation. Mech later publicly corrected the earlier interpretation and even tried to stop the term “alpha wolf” from being used. There isn't a dominant wolf in nature. Wolf packs are usually family units, basically parents and their offspring. The “alpha pair” is just mom and dad, not some hyper aggressive rulers. Leadership is more about guidance, experience, and cooperation, not domination. People think domination is the answer. Those people will either destroy everything around them and in turn themselves. Or they will just destroy themselves. Social success in humans tends to come from emotional intelligence, cooperation, adaptability, and trust, not brute dominance. The people who think in terms of domination are the weak ones here.
