Tonight I’ll be attending 𝐌𝐄𝐍’𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 – 𝐀 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝-𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 at the The Bonnyville Friendship Centre. This is an important conversation for our community; bringing together leaders, front-line workers, and individuals with lived experience to address the realities of gender-based violence and how we can be part of the solution. Looking forward to hearing from speakers like MLA Scott Cyr, Lloyd Pinsent, Grant Lottering, and Leighton Grey, along with many others doing critical work in mental health, addictions, and community support. These discussions matter. Real change starts with awareness, accountability, and action, and it takes all of us. If you’re in the area, I encourage you to attend and be part of the conversation. #Bonnyville #ColdLake #Community #Leadership #EndViolence #MensConference #Alberta #StrongerTogether

🚀 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬. 𝐅𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 🔧🍻 I’m proud to share my experience mentoring Tamara Urlacher through the Community Futures Lakeland 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 right here in Cold Lake. Watching Tamara take her vision and turn it into reality with the launch of 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 & 𝐖𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 has been nothing short of inspiring. 💥 These ventures are built on passion, grit, and a drive to win. 🔥 Race Ready is the must-have track packs and markers that help you stay noticed, stay organized, and stay ahead—built for winners and trusted by pros. Don’t hit the track without them. 🛠️ Wrench Warriors is an incredible opportunity for aspiring tradespeople from Town of Bonnyville, City of Cold Lake, Town of St. Paul, Alberta, and surrounding communities. Apply to be selected for Wrench Warriors and compete at Bonnyville Gear Grabbers Race Weekend for real tools, prizes, and three apprenticeship opportunities with local employers. This is where hard work meets real opportunity. The launch event at Cold Lake Brewing and Distilling was an incredible success, bringing together entrepreneurs, supporters, and community members to celebrate what’s possible when great ideas meet the right support. 🙌 Programs like 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 are vital to growing strong local businesses, and I’m grateful to have played a small role in Tamara’s journey. Big things ahead for both Race Ready and Wrench Warriors! 👉 𝘽𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙪𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙, 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙙! #ColdLake #Bonnyville #StPaul #SupportLocal #Entrepreneurship #CommunityFutures #SMARTstart #WrenchWarriors #RaceReady #SkilledTrades #BuiltForWinners #MentorshipMatters

Canada’s national security and sovereignty depend on our ability to stand shoulder to shoulder with our allies. In an increasingly uncertain world, defending our country means more than strong words: it means ensuring that Canada has the capabilities, partnerships, and shared combat assets necessary to operate alongside allied forces on and above the battlefield. Programs like the F-35 fighter are a critical part of that commitment. For communities like City of Cold Lake, Alberta, this is not an abstract policy discussion. Cold Lake is home to 4 Wing, the largest fighter base in Canada, and it is also home to the many Canadian Armed Forces members and military families who live, work, and build their lives here. Economic development in our city is not only about growth. It is about building a strong and healthy community that supports everyone who calls Cold Lake home. That includes the families of those who serve. Investments in housing, schools, healthcare, infrastructure, and local services benefit ratepayers, but they also provide the stability and support that military families rely on while their loved ones are deployed in service to Canada. A community that is economically strong and socially healthy provides something invaluable to our armed forces; peace of mind. When the families of those deployed know they are supported at home, it strengthens the foundation behind every mission carried out in defence of our country. This reality is especially relevant as Canada prepares to introduce the F-35 fighter program and major upgrades at 4 Wing Cold Lake. As was recently raised by our MLA Scott Cyr, in the Alberta Legislature, the expansion and modernization of 4 Wing represents one of the most significant defence investments our region has ever seen. Billions of dollars in upgrades, thousands of jobs, and long-term economic opportunities are expected to flow through the Lakeland as infrastructure, training facilities, and operational capabilities are strengthened. This investment will reinforce the critical role that 4 Wing Cold Lake plays in protecting Canada’s airspace and supporting the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who serve there. It also reinforces Cold Lake’s position as one of the most important fighter training and operational bases in the country. With opportunities of this scale come responsibilities for our region: • Economic opportunity — Expansion at 4 Wing will create demand for skilled workers in construction, engineering, technology, and the trades. This means real opportunities for local businesses, contractors, apprentices, and Albertans who want to build their careers while contributing to Canada’s national defence. • Planning for growth — Projects of this magnitude bring new workers and families to our region. Communities must be prepared with housing, healthcare access, strong schools, and the infrastructure necessary to support sustainable growth. At the heart of this conversation are the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families who serve at 4 Wing Cold Lake. They are not just stationed here — they are part of our community. They volunteer, raise their children here, and contribute to the strength of our region every day. Their service helps keep Canadians safe. Our responsibility is to ensure their families and communities are strong enough to support them in return. A secure Canada requires both a capable military and strong communities behind it. Cold Lake proudly stands as both. #ColdLake #4WingColdLake #CanadianArmedForces #NationalDefence #F35 #Lakeland #Alberta

💛 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 & 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 💛 Friends, today I want to share something very personal and very close to my heart. In Canada, we lose about 4,000 people to suicide every year. That’s 11 beautiful, precious lives lost every single day. 💔 It is the second leading cause of death for young people aged 15–34. Men are three times more likely to die by suicide, although women attempt it more often. But these are not just numbers. They are people who were loved. People who mattered. People who should still be here. Every one of those lives leaves behind families, friends, and communities carrying a pain that never fully goes away. On a personal note, I have struggled with suicidal thoughts in my own life. And I have also experienced the devastating loss of people I loved deeply to suicide. That kind of loss changes you forever. The grief doesn’t disappear. It stays with you… quietly, sometimes loudly… always reminding you of the person who should still be here. 🕊️ Tonight, as I prepare for this walk, I’ve been holding onto a text message I once sent to a very dear friend after they were lost to suicide. Reading it again has brought back a flood of memories, emotions, and heartbreak. It’s heavy. It’s real. And it reminds me why this walk matters so much. Tonight, I will walk in their honour. I will walk for every family carrying this pain. I will walk for every person who is hurting silently. Because deep down, I truly believe this: People don’t choose suicide because they want to die. They choose it because they desperately want the unbearable pain to stop. 💔 And that’s why we must talk about mental health. That’s why we must check in on each other. That’s why we must remind people that they matter and that their life has value. So tonight I’m asking you, from the heart… come walk with me. 🕯️ 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑. 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕. 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚. 📍 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟔 🕠 𝟓:𝟑𝟎 𝐏𝐌 📚 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 – 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 Let’s come together as a community to support one another, lift each other up, and shine a light into the darkness. 💛 Donations from the sweater sale will go toward supporting mental health programs at Elk Point School. 🌟 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 & 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 🌟 𝗠𝗠 - 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶-𝗥𝗔𝗬-𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💪 𝗠𝗠 Monday Moti-RAY-tion is about sharing moments that remind us why community matters - the people, the conversations, and the actions that strengthen the place we all call home 🏡 . 🎉 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐈 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝. As I moved from conversation to conversation, I noticed something almost rare these days: 📵 no one had their phones out. People were laughing, sharing great food 🍽️ and delicious drinks 🍷, telling stories, and genuinely engaging with one another. There were no political debates that I could see; just kindness, warmth, and mutual respect 🤝. And I have no doubt that in that room there were very different beliefs, philosophies, and political views. Yet none of that mattered in that moment. ✨ 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. It reminded me of how things used to feel, before everything became politicized. Before what we eat, who we date, what we drive, or how we vote became labels used to sort us into tribes. Social and mainstream media too often reduce complex human beings into a single belief or attribute; that’s simply not who we really are. At our core, I believe most of us share the same foundational values. What shifts quickly are the trending ideas pushed into our feeds, often designed to divide rather than unite, to inflame rather than inform. 🗣️ One of those shared foundations is freedom of speech; not just speech we agree with, but speech that challenges norms. That freedom is essential to democracy. It’s how progress has always started: ideas spoken aloud, debated fiercely, sometimes rejected, sometimes reshaping society for the better. At the same time, we live in a world where speech travels instantly; so do consequences. Harassment, boycotts, reputational damage, and real personal costs are now part of the landscape. Which leads to a difficult - but important - question, on all sides: ❓ 𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭? Is it worth risking livelihoods to champion a cause? Is it worth organizing a boycott or calling others to action online? 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙧. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙭. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩. 🤔 Maybe the people on “opposite sides” aren’t as different as we think. Maybe it’s just one small issue that separates us, while so much more connects us. At a party, you might be sharing a laugh with someone you’d disagree with politically. You might raise a glass 🥂, shake a hand, tell a story. In those moments, it becomes clear: 💛 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬. As conversations continue around Alberta’s future and our place within Canada, let’s remember this: 🇨🇦 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕, 𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. ✨ We can disagree passionately and still be kind. ✨ We can debate fiercely and still see each other as neighbours. ✨ We can stand firmly in our beliefs without tearing down the fabric that holds us together. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 - 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲 - 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬.
