This week, I attended the Veterans Day assembly at Legacy Elementary and then read a book to a first grade class and a Kindergarten class. I always enjoy the opportunity to interact with the children of our district in our great schools, especially to honor our nation's veterans!

It was an honor to receive Louisiana Family Forum Outstanding Family Advocate Award! Congratulations to all of the legislators who also received the honor for voting for family values that are important to Louisiana!

Also at the Bossier Schools board meeting, Benton High School Baseball team and Coach JD Stephens were recognized for winning the state championship, and Coach Stephens was also recognized for being named LSWA 4A Coach of the year.

I helped recognize several at last week's Bossier Schools board meeting. Spencer Favor, of Airline HS, was commended for scoring a perfect 36 on her ACT. Jillian Maxwell, of Benton HS, was commended for being selected to represent Louisiana at the HOBY World Leadership Congress.

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at the Republican Women of Bossier meeting, along with my fellow State Representative Dodie Horton. I enjoyed the “fireside” chat we had with the Members, Associate Members and Guests of the RWB.

I went to JAIL Monday...for a visit 😉 Thank you Sheriff Whittington, Capt. Stokes, deputies and staff for the opportunity to learn more about the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office and Correctional Facilities. I especially enjoyed doing the ride along with Deputy Reigan Malmay!

While the Republican Delegation can argue a victory has been won, it was not as sizable as it should have been. We whittled the take down from $1.2 billion to $463 million, but it was still far too much. The bill goes to the Senate next week. Thanks for your encouragement!
