We celebrate a powerful step forward for our state as His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, the leader of modern Kaduna state, flags off the distribution of 600 brand new high-impact transformers and 10,000 street lights across all 23 Local Government Areas, with Phase 1 already in motion and more phases to follow. This initiative brings light to homes, businesses, and communities, promotes inclusiveness, and strengthens rural security so our people can move freely day and night. We are extremely grateful to our super Governor for always acting before words and placing the interest of Kaduna State first. We also thank our super Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, for his tireless energy in executing the Governor’s directives and plans. At Kurmin Mashi community yesterday, I was truly amazed by the beautiful cultural display, the clear proof of intellect among our public school pupils, and the real spirit of community development on full show. Beyond the classrooms, I saw future leaders and the true pride of Kaduna South Local Government. I appreciate the organizers, especially Alh. Nuhu Margi, an ardent supporter of our Governor, His Excellency Sen. Uba Sani CON, and a true friend to our Local Government. At the event, I led the distribution of writing and instructional materials, full uniform sets, school bags, and special packages to appreciate our hardworking teachers. Indeed, we are together for Governor Uba Sani who has given us the enabling environment to drive this transformation. My dear people of Kaduna South, Following a rumour of tension in some parts of our Local Government, I went out immediately to supervise the situation and ensure calmness across the community. Before my arrival, the involved communities had already resolved the conflict peacefully. I summoned the community elders, stakeholders, and key executives to an emergency security meeting in my office. The meeting was also attended by the Honourable Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman (representing the concerned community), the Honourable Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Sule Shuaibu SAN, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ahmed Maiyaki, the Chairman of Chikun Local Government, Hon. Engr. Salasi Musa, and representatives of military and paramilitary forces. We discussed extensively about the tension caused by the rabble of young people, we also strengthened the decisions reached during the community dialogue, and calm has since been fully restored. Commercial activities are going on normally with no tension. I thank His Excellency Governor Uba Sani, CON, for his immediate support in containing the situation. I also thank our stakeholders and community elders for their swift action and wisdom in ensuring peace returned quickly. Kaduna South is one family, we have shown this time and again through inclusive decision-making and shared responsibility. This peace must be sustained at all costs. As we promised , we will continue to work together to protect every home and every ward. May God bless our unity, our state, and our nation. Hon. I had the honour of attending the solemn Wedding Fatiha of Suleiman Ibrahim Hamza, nephew of our respected brother, the Chief Personal Security Officer to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, CP (Dr.) Usman Shugaba (Magayakin Zazzau). The ceremony took place shortly after Juma’at prayers at the historic Sultan Bello Juma’a Masjid in Kaduna. May Allah bless their marriage with barakah, peace, love, and lasting happiness. Hon. Adam Abdulwahab, a talented and innovative young shoe maker from Kaduna South, presented me with a beautiful pair of his handmade shoes. I was excited to see such valuable skill in one of our own young people, already turning it into a business that earns him income. I was even more excited to learn that he balances his shoe-making work with his studies. This is exactly what we want for the youth of Kaduna South. With over a million potential buyers right here in our local government and millions more beyond our borders, talents like Adam’s show the real economic power our young people hold. Just as global brands like LV, Gucci, and Prada began from humble, skilled hands, we will support and grow local businesses under my leadership, taking them to wider stages. With the strong backing of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani CON, we are committed to empowering our youth so they harness their potential, create wealth, and build a brighter Kaduna South for all. I led the Kaduna South Local Government Council meeting to look back on our activities over the past year, draw lessons from what we have achieved, and build stronger momentum for the impactful initiatives planned for 2026. Together with council members, department heads, and key stakeholders, we reviewed our progress in health, education, security, economic empowerment, and governance. We examined what worked well, where we can improve, and how to deliver even more tangible results for our people across every ward. We also discussed critical developmental plans that will position Kaduna South on the global map. As a young leader who grew up in these same communities, with family, friends, and loved ones here, I feel this responsibility personally. My drive is to transform Kaduna South into a place where our children thrive, talents are nurtured, peace is strengthened, and economic opportunities reach every household. Under the clear direction and SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani CON, we remain focused on listening to you, acting decisively, and making sure every step forward benefits our families and future generations. Over the weekend, I personally directed the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS), in close collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, to conduct a community outreach and sensitization activities across selected areas. The purpose was to gather direct feedback from our people on how much we are achieving in terms of security, identify black-spots and concerns, and prepare the ground for a robust, active day-and-night patrol operation throughout the forthcoming Ramadan period. We are adopting and building on the same effective mechanism we used during the recent Christmas and New Year celebrations to ensure full protection of lives and properties. This is in full support of the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani CON, which places strong emphasis on improving security and safeguarding the lives and property of every citizen. The general public is strongly encouraged to report suspicious activities promptly through established channels, your timely information saves lives, especially during this period of increased social and religious gatherings. In partnership with KADVS, the Nigeria Police Force, and all stakeholders, we remain fully committed to preventive security, community trust, and lasting peace in every ward. Hon. It was a pleasure to receive Halliru Ahmed Khalipha and his team from TinT-Follow Taxes at the Kaduna South Local Government Secretariat today. The purpose of the meeting was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between their organization and our council. This MOU focuses on building the capacity of our young people to access international opportunities and organizing developmental programmes that harness and showcase the talents and economic potentials right here in Kaduna South. I expressed my excitement and keen interest in results that make a real difference for our people. This partnership lays a strong foundation for critical developmental projects already underway across our local government, opening doors for our youth to gain skills, exposure, and real platforms to succeed. I appreciate her kind words and recognition of our consistent efforts to support the party and serve the people with deliberate effort in womens' development. The over 35% women appointments in our administration shows our clear commitment to women’s progress and inclusion in every decision we make. This is not about laying foundations alone, it is about acknowledging and building on the active role everyone plays, including the tireless work of our local party chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Yakubu Soso, in driving party activities forward. I assured her that this year, we will push even harder to strengthen support and empowerment for women across all wards through more programs, skills training, and opportunities that put real change in their hands. As part of our strategic campaign to strengthen the All Progressives Congress in our Local Government, I received decampees from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Unguwan Mu’azu Ward, led by Mal. Auwal Babba. These former APC members who had left earlier are now returning home. I welcomed them back warmly and assured them that, as instructed by His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, every APC member is treated equally with no exceptions. I urged them to remain patient with the political process and continue supporting our great party. They expressed deep appreciation for the benefits Unguwan Mu’azu has enjoyed under APC leadership which includes asphalt road networks, solar-powered facilities, rehabilitated Primary Health Centres, and political appointments that have touched many lives. At the January 2026 Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting, chaired by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, we focused on key issues and explored practical ways to drive development across Kaduna State, with special attention to advancing progress for our people as directed by His Excellency Governor Uba Sani. Today I received Abdullahi Abubakar Danmaliki, President of the North West Comrades Forum, and his team in my office. I was truly elated to meet these vibrant young people full of smart ideas to sustain education, especially for the girl child. They presented their back-to-school packs designed to encourage school attendance among girls, showing real commitment to keeping our daughters in class and building a brighter future. I immediately linked them to my team so their proposal can merge with our ongoing WASH programme in Kaduna South. I had the honour of receiving the Director General of Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), Mal. Abubakar Hassan, and his team in my office. As the first Local Government to adopt the programme and sign an MOU with KADCHMA, we are proud to lead in improving healthcare delivery, especially in reducing maternal mortality, providing Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods, and expanding healthcare insurance, all made possible through the strong support of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani under the SUSTAIN Agenda. The DG expressed that they always feel at home in Kaduna South because of our genuine interest in quality health services for our people. I announced that another 1,000 residents will soon be enrolled in the scheme, bringing our total to 2,000. This builds on our achievements of 70% subsidy on medical bills, free Mama Kits, rehabilitated and solar-powered PHCs with modern equipment, deployment of doctors and NYSC professionals, toll-free feedback line, free cataract surgeries, inclusive Ward Development Committees, monthly nutrition support, and partnerships with WHO and others. I attended the launch of Operation Tsapta at Murtala Muhammed Square, led by the Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos. This initiative has already created over 5,000 jobs across Kaduna State, with many coming from our metropolis and Kaduna South to keep our urban areas clean. Following last year's recognition of Kaduna as the cleanest state, Governor Uba Sani has set a bold target of adding 7,000 more jobs to reach 12,000 total jobs, giving our young people meaningful work and a chance to contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant Kaduna State. The Governor called on all institutions to keep supporting environmental cleanliness and sustainability. We in Kaduna South will play our full part through our monthly sanitation exercises, community involvement, and partnerships that protect our environment.
