Clipped this off the ‘Louder with Crowder’ podcast a couple of days ago. This quote references doubts about Catholicism and Catholics ability to be loyal Americans, I would argue these doubts have since been largely allayed by on Catholic brothers and sisters fully assimilating into the larger culture. The key point here is that the idea of excluding people of whom their faith excludes their ability to incorporate into the society isn’t simply an attack on Islam. The fact, that the ‘Father of the Revolution’ Samuel Adams was willing to consider that a Christ believing faith like Catholicism might need to be excluded from inclusion into the American Colonies, because their religion might make it impossible for them to be loyal citizens demonstrates that the idea that a religion could be outside of the boundaries of what can be permissible for a society that intends to exist in perpetuity. The unfounded fears Samuel Adams had about Catholicism are CLEARLY legitimate concerns regarding the threat posed by Islam.

@eduleadership I’m sure you’re familiar with DOK as well as all the other educational catch phrases and fanciful concepts. I’m stating what differentiation entails according to its advocates. No, I’m not a fan.

@Rc3Pie I don’t think it’s supposed to be anything. I don’t think it can really exist. Why would we need to teach content at various depths? It seems inevitable that students will learn at varying depths no matter what we do.

It’s time to abandon the false premise—and false promise—of differentiated instruction. We can teach the same thing to everyone at the same time. We can’t teach different content to different students at the same time. That’s magical thinking.

@notgaetti -Back in the day- Athletes height was measured barefoot, as would be expected. Today, athletes in basketball have their heights listed according to how tall they are in their shoes. I suspect a lot of that goes on since Sports are so heavily marketed nowadays.

A lot of people think it’s impossible that Nolan Ryan in 1974 could have thrown the fastest pitch in MLB history, simply because they assume today’s athletes are all bigger, faster, and stronger. Can Those People also explain Secretariat’s records from 1973 remaining untouched?
Not Gaetti@notgaetti

According to science, Nolan Ryan’s fastest pitch was 108.5 mph. I suppose it’s no wonder why he has the most: • no-hitters • one-hitters • two-hitters • three-hitters • 200-K seasons • 300-K seasons • strikeouts in a year • strikeouts in a career

The solution….drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁 LEVELED INSTRUCTION like we had in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I know that is going to be very humbling to some Education Professors that pushed this horse 💩for the last 30 years! People are going to attempt to explain that the range of abilities enhances the classroom experience for the brightest students. Gag🤮 I tried that line with Harvard and my 1060 SAT. I told them that all those students with 1550 and above scores would benefit by being exposed to me, someone with much lower test scores. It was almost like by accepting me, admissions would be providing a blessing to all those brilliant overachievers. Well, it didn’t sell. However, it is good enough for your sons and daughters that are trying to be serious about the education they are receiving in the Public Schools.

Instead of blaming White people for slavery (which wasn’t started by White people btw), people should be thankful to White people for being the ones who ended slavery worldwide.

Gerald Henderson was a rookie getting 14 mpg in 79’-80’ Adding Robey? Have you ever looked at Robey’s career stats? The only reason he was ever remotely relevant was because he played with Larry Bird. Put less kindly, he was a terrible pro. ML Carr was a good defender and a quality sub. Were any of those three players consequential aside from playing alongside Larry Bird? If you want to talk about the 85’-86’ team I will concede that McHale, Parrish, Johnson, Ainge, Walton, Wedman & Sichting were all playing their roles at extremely high levels and that they were all terrific players in the roles they were assigned. That’s not what Bird walked into in the 79’-80’ season.

Cowens was a shell of himself. He retired the following year. Archibald, although solid, was not deserving of an All Star nod. Like Cowens, it was more of a career achievement award. On the other hand, Cornbread should have gotten one of those two All Star slots. All that said, everyone you mentioned was on the team that only won 29 games the year before. So, how ‘stacked’ could it have actually been? Bill Fitch? Are you familiar with the saying, ‘even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then’?

It’s hard to listen to that hard-ass bravado without thinking in the back of my mind, “Dude, you were in the middle of it all when it seemed like not a helluva lot was getting done.” Now, maybe the FBI and DOJ will have some wins eventually of which Bongino can receive partial credit. Until then??? …and I’m not like angry. It’s just a feeling I can’t shake.

Here is a super short map of Elon’s thinking. 1. AI and robotics will cause mass unemployment like we have never seen. 2. We need to transition the economy and make sure millions don’t die. 3. Universal high income from taxes on AI will help bridge the gap. 4. If we survive the transition we will potentially enter the age of abundance. 5. People can work and earn money but their basic needs are met. This isn’t socialism or even communism like we know it. I know it seems similar and I have railed against UBI for years. This is solving a problem created by the biggest advance in technology the world has ever seen and faster than you can comprehend. I’m not advocating for this, just explaining his thinking in the simplest terms I can. If I’m wrong, tell me.

I’m inclined to lean towards Dr. Amen’s views that ADD in its various forms is largely a circulatory issue. He also ascribes other causes like brain trauma. I have struggled with being able to focus on command most of my life. While working in a physically demanding capacity in a factory, where I would get a 15 minute break every 2 hours or so, I took a book of essays to read during my breaks. To my surprise, I was able to begin instantly upon sitting down. All through high school and college, when I wanted to read something for class I would be hit with a weird sense of anxiety and an inability to focus. There I was reading College level material effortlessly and enjoying it.

‘Works, being a follower and serving’ are the Fruits born out of grace. So, do we as people get to KNOW 100% about where other people stand in their relationship with God? No, not 100%. Maybe, with near certainty but not 100%. Only God can truly see the heart of man. So, only God can know if a man has truly repented and claimed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Again, you can be pretty reasonably certain based on the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ but 100% is for God alone.

I need some help. I know the writings of the new Testament say we are saved by grace not works but..... There are many passages about repentance and an expectation of following and serving. Even the parable of the ten virgins indicate some believers will miss out. So what's the deal?

@izthisJudah Looks bad, but the ‘cuffs’ were likely (someone else said this) already in his hands and being prepared to be used. I wouldn’t mind seeing the 15 to 30 seconds leading up to this, if for no other reason than it would validate the reason this man was being taken into custody.

@ericmmatheny Another thing I learned. Never keep your targets. Prosecutors, if they see used targets on the wall will surmise that you practiced for this moment and call it premeditated murder. I am serious, some of these prosecutors are bigger pieces of shit than the thieves!
