Three months ago I said AI took the parts of coding I hated and left the parts I love. A lot of developers told me that was an easy thing to say as a senior. They weren't wrong. I didn't have an answer. So I built one, and last week I gave it on the #ReactSummit keynote stage.

The one line I wanted people to leave with: it's not seniority that decides who thrives with AI. It's open-mindedness. I've watched 20-year devs stay stuck and 6-month devs fly, on willingness to think differently alone. Thank you Amsterdam. #reactsummit

Almost two weeks have passed since @ReactSummit Amsterdam, and I'm only now finding the right words. @GitNationOrg knows how to create something special. The organization, the atmosphere, the people they bring together - it all adds up to something that stays with you well after you've landed home. This year I was also part of the program committee, which meant I got to see a different side of how a conference like this comes together. The care that goes into curating the program, the decisions, the back and forth - it gave me a whole new appreciation for what ends up on stage. But what I keep coming back to is the conversations. The ones about what it means to be a developer right now. About how AI is shifting our role in ways that are exciting and unsettling at the same time. About what we're holding onto, what we're letting go of, and what we're becoming. I don't think any of us have the full answer. But being in a room with people who are genuinely wrestling with the same questions - that's where the good stuff lives. Thank you to everyone who shared a conversation, a thought, a moment with me.
