They have to lose so incredibly that it forces self reflection. A minor midterm loss from losing some zoomers votes is not that.

Throwing out what any person unconvinced would see as mixed messaging isn't useful.
It doesn't matter how high level aryan someone is. If all people see is what looks like schizophrenia, people will perceive it as schizophrenia.

Here's some of the tropes. (let's use naomi from the kilo 5 trilogy as the subject)
- The Tragic Heroine
(None of the women chose to be spartans. Naomi is no different.)
- The Rebuttal of the Infertile Villian
(This one leans into subversion, but it also is a standard lesson for women in classical tales. Theyre infertile so they must be duty bound to another high order cause. It also overlaps with the tragic Heroine due to it being by seemingly birthright. Typically infertile female characters become resentful, but there is the counter example. That of a lady choosing to accept that burden and attempt to still rightly order to world. Naomi embodies this.

- The Veiled Lady Knight
(Spartans wear helmets and are mysterious soldiers of great standing. Pretty obvious. Tons of characters in pre modern literature are warriors that are secretly women)
- Heroine's Magical Endeavor
(Replace all of the gadgets and abilities she has and make them magical devices that do the exact same thing. All scfi is just light fantasy with a different coat of paint.)
- The Exception
(She has been destined to be better then everyone else around her. That demonstrates why the normal rules typically exist, and why she must go past them. This trope is a common one in Arthurian tales or adjacent regarding female knights. It can also be seen as almost a divinely ordained duty of hers. Something something Insert tangent about Joan of Arc)
- Female Restorationist
(Naomi helps her father feel as if his family is a true lineage again by coming back to him. Many of the stories about female knights are just them attempting to restore dynastic integrity.)
