Searching for the next generation photoswitches, polymerizations, materials, and chemical transformations. Also searching for Javier.

I wanted to share the exciting opportunity I had at UCSB this week. I learned and conducted polymerizations using flow chemistry. Thank you to the NSF BioPacific MIP for making this possible! I can’t wait for more inter-institutional collaboration in 2022! Go Bruins Go Gauchos!!

On-demand interconversion between living radical and cationic polymerization using two orthogonal stimuli and a dual responsive single catalyst enables the synthesis of copolymer chains where block length is controlled by stimulus duration exposure pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

This just in... congratulations to Professor Rachel Segalman and Professor Craig Hawker, who were both elected to the prestigious National Academy of Engineering. More details to come shortly...

Congratulations to KRG alum, Meghan Nichol, on defending her PhD from UC Santa Barbara! Zoom defenses are not ideal, but I love that it gives me the opportunity to watch my former students successes! #ProudMentor @LewisUniversity @UCSB_chemistry @ReadAlanizteam
