I got another devastating rejection from a literary agent. I almost cried at work. This is such a brutal industry; it almost destroys my enjoyment of reading now that I know the amount of suffering that goes into it all.

@ReadMartins I just needed to find the right kind of book for my 7 year old son. He didn't have a ton of interest in what we were offering until he needed a book for a book report and I handed him a kid mystery/detective series, and now we can't get books to him fast enough! ☺️

Hi #WritingCommunity and #readingcommunity , what works for you to encourage boys to read? I start: I've heard a reward like a chocolate bar for a chapter book completed. After a while (2-3 books), no more treat is needed when passion for reading is found.
