"The ones showing the company had been falsifying its safety reports for eighteen months." My manager's face changed. The HR director reached for the agreement. "That isn't what this settlement—" "I know." That's why I signed it. The $10,000 agreement covered my wrongful termination. It didn't cover criminal conduct I'd already reported.

I am open minded towards WotC's political shift, because corporations aren't people, and if you change the people the corporation changes. And as I posted earlier, the staff at WotC has changed a bit, so this shift to classic content could be genuine. Yet, at the same time they promote Dark Sun, Dragonlance, and Greyhawk as a return to their roots, they're countersignaling with with the exact same message. The Dark Sun reveal might be blood and gore, as opposed to pulpish sword & planet imagery, but I originally thought "well, Heavy Metal art is old school, right?". But look... it's yet another mannish woman dominating weaker men. Now don't get me wrong; Dark Sun included lots of illos of powerful women, but they were graceful and beautiful. Likewise that was what you'd get in the Heavy Metal art that was the real inspiration. But instead we are getting the modern puritanical lecture version. Likewise the Greyhawk logo. The color choice is... interesting. It's there to tell you that this might be your grandfather's game world, but it won't be what your grandfather remembered. Every reveal includes a clue that this is still intended to appeal to "modern audiences" rather than the classic fans with the deep pockets who they drove away. Buyer beware.

You either operate the crane or you'll never once see what she sees and the algorithm rewards exactly that kind of access nobody else can offer. Notice what she's actually selling. Not the job — the workplace. A million people film their commute and their desk. She films a glass room in the sky that most people didn't know had a human inside it. The location does 100% of the work. She's not a content creator and doesn't pretend to be. Phone on, view out, AI takes the raw clip — finds the frame that makes your stomach drop, cuts it to the music, captions it, schedules it. She's back to work before it posts. The $6,000 stack: Workwear and equipment brands paying for a real operator, not a model in a costume. Platform payouts on millions of monthly views. Affiliate links on the gear she actually wears up there. The lesson isn't "learn to run a crane" It's that if your workplace is somewhere 99% of people will never stand, you don't need a personality or a face — the window does the talking. Ten million people have watched an MIT professor accidentally destroy the executive coaching industry. He filmed the lecture once in January 2018 and died eighteen months later. Executive coaches charge fifteen thousand dollars a session to teach a third of what he covered in one hour for free. His name was Patrick Winston. He ran the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory from 1972 to 1997 and wrote the AI textbook every computer science major in the world read for thirty years. Every January for four decades, he gave a lecture called "How to Speak." His entire framework fits on a napkin. Do not read. Be in the image. Keep images simple. Eliminate clutter. Start with an empathetic connection. End with a punch line the audience can repeat over dinner. Never open with a joke. Never end with "thank you." That last rule alone has probably cost the executive coaching industry a hundred million dollars. "Your success in life will be determined largely by your ability to speak, your ability to write, and the quality of your ideas. In that order." That is the actual opening line of the lecture. Winston believed it strongly enough to spend fifty years teaching computer scientists how to talk. Founders spend $80,000 on an MBA and then hire a communications coach to teach them the same material Winston filmed once for free. Engineers write brilliant code and lose promotions to teammates who watched this lecture on the train. The lecture is free on MIT OpenCourseWare. The textbook is free on his page. Winston died in 2019. Almost none of the ten million viewers have actually implemented the four rules on the napkin. The napkin is free. The willingness to actually use it in your next meeting is the entire edge.
