@ChrisAndo5 @theSportress I know you’re right, but if I tell myself that it is then I’ll be less disappointed if im right!

@ReadRobbie @theSportress I remember the start of 2017 we had a golden point loss to the Cowboys and a 13-12 loss to the Broncos and so many heartbreaking losses that season its too early to say that we have 2017 vibes

@AndoDanny @DavidStacka @theSportress Totally agree with that. The Broncos had an abysmal start last year and now they’re premiers. But years of supporting the Raiders has left me frightened and skittish

@DavidStacka @theSportress It is definitely a worse game, and a 4 pt loss to the Bulldogs in those circumstances is nothing to be ashamed of. I just wonder how many gallant close losses we can afford before finals become mathematical.

@GreenMachinePod 2026 is beginning to look like 2017/18. A season full of close losses and “what ifs” after a tremendous season the year before.

@TheGHRaiders He looked incredibly composed. That pass he threw to Martin for the first try looked purposeful. Martin had a lot of work to do, but the Colonel made it look like it was something planned and orchestrated.

@Ben77099196273 Union is great if you enjoy games where the final score can be just from penalty goals and not a single try scored. You can also mow the lawn in the time it takes to pack a scrum. Assuming it doesn’t collapse repeatedly and just result in an obscure penalty.

@codenrl It’s just an updated Nth Sydney logo. Honestly it’s barely a Perth franchise.

@TheMiddleStump Rugby Union is dead in Australia and yet still rank 7th in the world. That sounds mighty impressive. I’m no soccer fan, but my understanding is Australia and England seem to be winning about the same amount of trophies for the last few decades.

Numerous Australians on here crowing about how they are the world leaders of sport. Cricket, rugby league and Aussie Rules yes. Rugby union now 7th in the world, and a football team that have failed to qualify for World Cups more often than they have succeeded. Pipe down.

@TheMiddleStump He served his time. He copped a lot more grief (and continues to do so) than most others in the game who have been done for tampering.

Genuine question, Australians. When Smith was banned over sandpapergate, many Aussies wanted him banned for life. Is that the general feeling still now or has he served his time? And how do you feel about him back as skipper? Lucky to be on the pitch?

@7NewsMelbourne @rochelleebrown1 Darn it I just love it when people in cities share the full breadth of their knowledge by declaring 4wds should be banned or taxed to the eyeballs without pausing to consider Australia’s demographic, size or terrain.

Pedestrian fatalities have hit a 17 year high and road safety experts are pointing the finger at a growing trend. The surging popularity of large SUVs and Utes is being blamed for making Victorian roads far more dangerous. @rochelleebrown1

@MichaelVaughan There’s certainly life in the pitch, but to be fair there’s some absolutely cavalier batting going on from both sides.

@TheJeffPutnam @KevinMonk @TheWalterMagic Everyone thinks they can when they watch it from the comfort and safety of their home, but if you were in his position how sure are you that you could do better? You should be pretty darn sure before you sling mud at people for “half measures.”

Yall are gonna be mad at me for this, but how many more people were shot because this guy couldn’t bring himself to shoot this rabid animal in the face after disarming him but instead allowed him to run to the foot bridge and re-arm himself?

@FOXNRL I’m pretty sure the Adelaide Rams were financially sound when they wound up. Their memberships were one of the highest, and I’m pretty sure they had their ‘99 season launch then they got cut from out of left field.

@theSportress I think Sanders could very much be the guy. Fogarty was a great half for the club, but he had deficiencies in his game. He mainly carried the team on his boot it was really only in ‘25 he became a proper playmaker. I think Sanders has a lot higher ceiling.

Credit to Reece Walsh for winning the Clive Churchill medal. The way he went down from the Hosking charge down in week 1 of finals I thought he might die or at least never walk again.
