The most politically successful libertarian in world history, Javier Milei was "boorish"....big time. He ridiculed behaviors and worldviews constantly. He still does. Tons of examples out there. It's a huge reason he got elected. It snapped tons of people out of their PC trances. Because of him getting elected, huge cuts to government spending were made. 30%. Not reductions in the rate of growth, actual cuts. He's also deregulated like crazy, paid off crazy amounts of debt left behind by the PC mob and their society continues to improve at a rapid rate. Real libertarian principles were applied. None of that could have happened if he wasn't bashing "shitlibs" (his words) or communists (club of the small dicks. Again, his words)....being "boorish". His party is less than 6 years old and his party won the midterms back in Oct. So, not only does his rhetoric work for him, the results and that rhetoric are politically viable. I say all that for two reasons; 1) "boorish" behavior can work and have great results, especially for libertarians. Have to combine it w/ a compelling worldview, of course. 2) That PC spell is still strong in America and needs to be lifted.

@ReadSowell @fitofp1que @hasanthehun No, people won't work for free. Nobody ever said that. Regulations, that's how we will know what things really cost to produce. None of it it's guess work. This is a well defined system.

Not hard to understand what I'm saying in the first part. Our "poor" live better than kings did 150 years ago. FAR better. Capitalism did that. So, how would prices be determined? How does price discovery happen? Something tells me that you don't even understand the role prices play in society, much less what price discovery is.

People are going to work for free? And how do you know what the production costs will be/should be? The actual system by which resources are allocated? Just a bunch of guess work? How does the hierarchy work, or does everyone get a "vote"? And if that's the case, do they all get to vote on their wages...the ones that don't somehow want to work for free?

@ReadSowell @fitofp1que @hasanthehun Prices won't be set by speculation. They will be set by the actual production cost. Some things will be cheaper others might be more expensive. Bug difference will be that most basic needs which are paywalled under capitalism will be free or almost free in a socialist system

Man, this is wild. Our "poor" have smartphones and are obese. They have AC, indoor plumbing, cars, plenty of clothing, housing.... Ok, how are resources allocated in a socialist society? Would there be such a thing as prices? If so, how does price discovery happen? If not, how is the efficient allocation of resources organized?

Fair enough; Look how fast Argentina is improving. They got rid of all kinds of regulations and slashed the hell out of government spending. India freed up their markets and they've improved like crazy. Frank, if you understand the role prices play in society, if you understand property rights fully, you'll understand why capitalism is unbelievably preferrable to every other system ever created by man....even if politicians were angels. If you're gonna say capitalism is so awesome, you have to include everyone - not just america. When you look at the reality that most of the world is poor at the behest of capital, and theres incredibly wealthy people here with their heads in the sand to the actual pain the system causes, it just makes them look like demons.

America benefits from the exploitation of other countries, and you know that as well. The Philippines for example are capitalist, and they are clearly not doing as great as the US. Many such cases. China is communist, and doing better than a majority of capitalist countries. Money is the actual intangible, subjective value of it. That said, how do you think resources are most efficiently allocated?

Capitalism is what helped created the ability to be charitable in the first place. According to your "logic", America should be filled to the teeth w/ starving people. So, why are our poor so fat? Why is it that we have, by far, the most billionaires, yet poor people CONSTANTLY try to flood into this country? Economics is just understanding the allocation of scarce resources and their alternative uses. I don't think you've ever thought your worldviews through, bud.

Capitalism is the system that creates the need for charity and the existence of the ultra-poor. You should be the one donating your wealth, if you have it. This is the point. Economics is a balance and its really, really stupid to think that any system can 'lift people from poverty' as poverty is a reflection of how wealth is distributed. You aren't 'creating' wealth, just trading it.

You can't even conceptualize that there are people who aren't envious. That's how bad you've got it. Wait, would he become less famous if he gave away millions to the poor? He would be less influential? Seems like you're trying to claim that. Are you? Also, it's just a fact that capitalism, freed up markets and freed up trade, has lifted more people out of poverty, by far, than any other system ever created by man....and you Leftists want to destroy it. Your own words also demonstrate that you don't care at all about the poor or you'd also be feeding them - apparently by the hundreds and thousands. You aren't jealous of his fame, but his capital, and it sounds like you're driven by greed. 'Leading by example' by giving away his wealth is actually a retarded idea when he doesn't have to, and can instead use his influence to generate fundraising while at the same time touting a system wherein charity doesn't need to exist.
