@blikethecheese @alexandertyler I feel the pathologists' disbelief and horror in the gross description...but maybe I'm projecting haha. "Received labeled as spleen, is a grossly identifiable liver" is objectively professional but still conveys a certain je ne sais quoi.

@alexandertyler Eh. Theres gotta be some detail we’re missing that will make us say “that’s how this happened.” But we don’t have that yet.

@ParijatSen11 I will rage against systems based as long as I have breath. Confusing, repetitive, artificially segments the patient into systems and hinders understanding the the entire clinical picture. A menace of an idea.

Unpopular opinion but the systems based approach in the ICU never made sense to me. Problems based approach gives a true overview “CVS: Hypotension, needing pressors GI: massive lower GI bleed” doesn’t mean much “Hemorrhagic shock 2/2 massive lower GI bleed does” 🤷🏽‍♂️

Just finished an absolutely exhausting month of Gen Med but I got to take care of two patients with scleroderma (one of which I became PCP for) and made a new diagnosis of APLS so that was neat. Rheum fellowship interviews start next week! 🤞 #rheumie

@olsonplanner Not to mention their system breaks randomly. Got a message in my portal yesterday but no email notification of the message. Not ideal.

Question: why do you charge medical students with no income and no other options hundreds to thousands of dollars to use your service? And do you realize this disproportionately affects students of lower socioeconomic means?

I was pretty anxious going into this application season because my residency app was more painful than it needed to be due to ERAS LOR letter assignment issues. Not getting an email notification for this message has not put my mind at ease (I had been receiving emails til now).

Not to cause panic, but I received a MyERAS message yesterday but did not get an email notification for it. It was just a receipt of application note, but in it they acknowledge a "widespread error" resulting in delayed processing of LORs and residency status in ERAS.
