Well, technically anyone can enter any industry and even be successful at it. But games aren't just like another industry. This space is culture, community, meaning, emotion. You need to understand the space and have passion for games as more than just a product, or you'll always be operating from the outside. That’s why so many gaming projects collapse. I'm not saying you have to be playing all the time. I go through ebbs and flows myself. But you should be a gamer at heart and immersed in the culture and consumer behavior of gaming. Otherwise, why are you even here? You're just someone reading reports, articles, or asking gpt. At that point, you're managing a business you truly dont understand. Outside thinking is great. But what the industry really needs is more people who understand the space and genuinely care about the medium.
