O Grupo de Investigação Biológica Integrada (GIBI/UFPA) assumiu o desafio de amostrar ciclos completos de maré, coletando peixes e filtrando água para extrair os fragmentos de DNA no manguezal em diferentes horários da madrugada e ao longo do dia. As amostras vão de Belém para Oslo, na Noruega, onde serão sequenciadas por metabarcoding, uma técnica que identifica espécies com base em fragmentos de DNA presentes numa amostra.
