We use the word democracy. But there are two democracies. The first is representational. You vote for a politician who is part of a party, and he votes on legislation. He can even propose legislation. But its up to him
the second is direct democracy. The first democracy. There are no political parties and no politicians. You go to the polls and just vote for an issue. That issue managed to get hundreds of thousands of signatures from citizens to be brought up for a vote.
