4. You measure the success of the interaction by whether they seemed impressed 5. You leave feeling like you performed — not like you connected The fix isn't to perform better. It's to stop auditioning entirely.

5 things that happen when you enter a room in "applicant mode": 1. You look for approval signals before you've said anything 2. You over-explain your accomplishments when asked what you do 3. You mirror their energy instead of setting your own 👇👇👇

Approach anxiety is a business liability. Stop treating social skills like the genetic lottery and start treating them like an important KPI.

You've hit every financial goal and still feel empty. Because money and self confidence aren't built the same way. You've been grinding on one for years. The other you assumed would grow along with your income. That gap you feel is about what you've kept avoiding.

Stop calling it social anxiety. Ranking someone above you means the conversation becomes an audition. You stop talking. You start performing. They never meet the real you. Just the nervous version trying to impress them.

You don't freeze up around people you view as "Higher Status" than you because they're impressive. You freeze because you've decided they're above you.

Getting nervous around high-status people isn't a confidence problem. It's a threat response. Big difference. Confidence fixes need motivation. Threat responses need neuroscience. "Just be more confident" never works because it's solving the wrong problem.

2. Over-explain our accomplishments to fill silence 3. Mirror the other person's energy instead of setting our own 4. Run a mental replay of every mistake after the fact 5. Avoid the situation entirely next time All 5 are understandable. All 5 compound the problem.

It's a skill gap. And skill gaps close. The same discipline that built your business can rebuild your social confidence. The inputs are identical: understand the mechanism, apply the right framework, put the reps in. That's the whole game.

Hard truth most men won't say out loud: You can close a $5,000 client over email. But you freeze when someone impressive is standing three feet in front of you. That gap — between who you are on a screen and who you are in the room — isn't a personality trait. 👇👇👇
