Many things are true at the same time - Yes, this is probably what most Iranian citizens want - Yes, the Iranian regime is a tyrannical and forces Islam on its citizens - No, it is not in the interest of the US for Iran to have nukes - In the best case scenario, this could be a net positive for the US - Iran is a terrorist regime that funds terrorism throughout region - Israel wants the US to assist in regime change — also — - This is a direct betrayal of one of Trump’s major campaign promises (no new wars) - If Israel was out of the picture, the US would have no interest in this war - The US is >$100T in debt (including unfunded liabilities) and cannot afford wars that aren’t 100% necessary - Iran poses zero threat to the US. Their military pales in comparison to either - This war more likely than not poses more risks/costs than benefits to the US - Iran has been totally compliant in all treaties, and has been fully transparent with their nuclear program - Israel has been pushing for our involvement in Iranian regime change for the better part of the last 30 years @Asmongold thinks the benefits outweigh the costs. I don’t. But I see where he’s being consistent in thought process. I just think he doesn’t understand the nuances of the history of the region here.
