You complaint is very valid. Those who capitalize T or S or P in the middle of the word (e.g. SeTswana, MoTswana, BaTswana etc or MoSotho, SeSotho, BaSotho etc or SePedi, MoPedi etc) are imposing Nguni orthographies on these languages. Setswana orthography does not allow that, as is the case with both orthographies of Sesotho of Lesotho and Sesotho of South Africa. That is not only incorrect, but in South Africa it is unconstitutional. Section 6(i) of Chapter 1 of the South African Constitution reads: “The official languages of the Republic are Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, siSwati, Tshivenda, Xitsonga, Afrikaans, English, isiNdebele, isiXhosa and isiZulu.” Note the orthography! NB Orthography is the standardized system [standardized by the linguists of that language] of writing a language, encompassing rules of spelling, punctuation, capitalization, hyphenation, and word boundaries.

@mareledes @RealDoctorC Tried getting land in Bokong and the chief said no!! Because I’m not from there. Land in Lesotho is difficult to acquire because there are no set processes.

Here is a deal; Get land in the Maluti mountains not too far from the ski resort , build holiday homes in a gated estate for sale. Market them in Cape Town , Sandton, Lagos, countries in Europe , Asia , America & similar places. Watch how that turns out.

@RealDoctorC A gated estate means that you become a body corporate. The inhabitants inside don’t have to deal with local restrictions cos you’ll have them covered for them.

@RealDoctorC spent 19 years there and had a similar view from my farm (just down the R26 towards Ficksburg) - what I remember is when there is snow on those mountains, it is blerrie koud on the South African side...
