@supershtpstr @oldGrunger It’s because in the US there’s a loophole where restaurants can pay waiters less than minimum wage if they’re tipped. It’s very dumb but can also be super lucrative if you wait tables at a high end place. I know people who earn $2.15/hr from the restaurant but make $1500 a night.
