I am building a "True Collaborative Web3 Experience" by leveraging appointment setters, audience sharing and other web3 games (mostly)
I want to put together a 4v4 Turn Based RPG game similar to RAID:Shadow Legends and/or Summoners War
With 2 very unique mechanisms...
Almost all of the characters we have will be designed in honour of our Web3 partners, mimicking their own characters if they have them and if not, we work with them to design some new ones. We also deliver 50% of the collection we mint to their top players/holders/contributors and the remaining 50% we keep for special sales and player rewards.
For their community to get the value from these assets they need to come and play our game, thus driving a bunch of players to our project
Player acquisition is something I haven't seen any web3 game do successfully yet. I have only seen projects spend millions on spray and pray marketing tactics in an attempt to go viral and even then, their lifespan is very limited because virality isn't sustainable.
We have put together a list of Discord communities that total 9.8million members (there will be lots of duplicates in there as some people are in multiple communities). Each of these communities are open to collaboration ideas
And we haven't even started on lists for non-blockchain games, social media communities and even meme coins.
Now here is the unique gameplay mechanism...
Each character will have a range of stats based on rarity, level, star rank and RNG. Each character will also have ONE skill
Aura Forge is about forging auras and in doing so you can create hundreds of combinations, each with 2 to 9 skill possibilities and then fuse these auras with your characters.
Character + Aura = Battle Character.
The auras provide the majority of your skills and will basically determine the style of play that character will have
14.2 quintillion combinations. This will increase further too
And here is a big piece of the puzzle;
I want to start a war. A war among other communities who each have a character collection within Aura Forge
The thing about a war is that you need weapons and in this case, Auras are the weapons and there is only one supplier.

K, that is the nutshell sales pitch for the game and player acquisition. I have so many more pieces in my head and I'm trying to choose the best parts 😆
One of the important objectives I have is to create opportunities to include real players in the evolution of the project.
I'm doing this by frequently presenting questions to our Discord group around gameplay ideas, economics and balance. They are very much shaping the direction of the project
And one of my favourite pieces of this project is having the ability to have other players and communities design our assets. I have other games designing our characters and I can have our community members design our Auras, even designing the graphics, skills, stats and lore for the Auras and then we will be including their details in the credits for each of the Aura descriptions meaning they forever stamp their name on the Aura Forge project
The long term goal is to add more game genres to the Aura Forge ecosystem, each feeding back to forging, trading, collecting and fusing new one-of-a-kind auras.
We're starting with a 4v4 Turn Based RPG and I hope that our second game will be a 3v3 live battle game similar to Brawl Stars or even something like Clash of Clans
Maybe one day some casual games, shoot 'n loots like Warframe/Borderland, maybe a Hack 'n Slash like Diablo or even a MMORPG like World of Warcraft
But they are a good distance away. For now, I am enjoying the process of building our first game, building it ethically and building it the way the players want it while giving them visible credit for their contributions.
Wow that was a longer snippet than I had aimed for, maybe I should have just recorded a video after all 🤣 And I barely scratched the surface with that explanation
We have everything mapped out, no doubt I will continue to keep adding pieces but for now we have a clear roadmap and I'm working on finding the right investors (there is a bit of a vulture culture in the crypto space) and also working on grants which will determine which chain we build this on. I hope to have pressed the big green GO button on development within the next couple of weeks
