One of the greatest gifts given to us from God is the ability to partake in the same action that brought us and everything around us into fruition The blessing that is the ability to create. It looks different for everyone, but we all have that privilege, and I would argue, obligation.

3 minutes ago I was thinking... "What should i write a thread about today?" i realized I hadn't researched a topic to write about so i then decided not to write one. my next thought was about how important it is to produce and create just as much, if not more than, we consume. So in light of that thought, I will be writing this thread on creating vs. consuming

Commit to both. Understand that you will never have less responsibility. That gives you the ability to take more risks and build. It will never be easier. But, don’t sacrifice your 20’s to “grind”. Guru’s will tell you that it’s a trade-off. I will tell you from an experience (and I’m not the only one), you can have both. Don’t fall for the hustle porn. Just my opinion.

@whiskeythinking Curious the reason for leaning Catholicism

Sunday best: - Coffee - Journal (3 pages minimum — read The Artists Way) - Church (been going to Catholic mass recently even though I’m not Catholic. Today I went to a non denominational Christian church and I have to say I am leaning more towards Catholicism afterwards. We may need a Substack on this.) - Brunch (Greek yogurt with fruit and honey, scrambled eggs, mini donuts and more coffee for me) - Run to gym - Work / prep for week

If you have clarity on an idea, opinion, thought, write it down. Because if you don't, it lives in your head without words. So when you have to communicate it you have to figure out how to properly articulate it for the first time in the moment.

If you want to make a lot of money without making it your god. Don't obsess over money itself. Obsess over a skill/path that rewards you with money the more proficient you are.

The only way you will become great at anything is by becoming obsessed with it. Curiosity and interest beat discipline and willpower every time.

reminder: you're not that important

On the antifragile Charlie Kirk influence: Tonight my 23 yo son came home from a long day of being an electrician apprentice then trade school. Out the door at 5:30 am back home at 8 pm . Showered. Ate dinner. Did push ups. Sat next to me and prayed aloud for Charlie’s family for 10 minutes without prompting. Listened to two worship songs including “Rise up O men of God.” Watched a short talk by Charlie while eating. Hugged me and said “I need to be like Charlie. God help me.” Went to bed. Something is happening with young men. Burn like fire. Pour like rain.

Good men determine how a nation responds in times like these. Men: Let’s be clear here. This is evil at work, not a rogue gunman, not a SINGLE radical leftist. This far exceeds the physical. This is spiritual war. Your family needs you, your wives, children, parents, siblings, and friends. It’s scary. But it’s time to answer the call. How will you show up? Will you wither in the face of evil? Seek Christ. Seek truth through his word, ask for wisdom, discernment, and courage. Hug your friends and family extra tight. We need to show up. The future of our country depends on it.

RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history than you are part of the problem.
