The Jakara–Kwarin Gogau–Zungeru drainage corridor project highlights a major ecological intervention under the Renewed Hope framework, transforming a long-neglected 6.7km open waste channel into a structured system to tackle flooding and environmental hazards. Backed by about N47 billion in federal ecological funds, the project addresses decades of public health risks, including malaria and waterborne diseases.
Once completed, it will convert a dangerous urban drainage problem into a functional infrastructure asset, improving environmental safety and protecting surrounding communities.

Bashir Dalhatu Liman, the Fulani man who was denied boarding a bus to Calabar last week after passengers refused to travel with him, has appeared in a new video at the Lagos airport saying he will not be stopped from getting to his destination.
“Last week, passengers refused to travel with me from Lagos to Calabar. Now here am I in Lagos, in airport from Lagos to Abuja,” Liman said in the video. “And no passenger is going to say we are not traveling with Fulani herdsman. Here is airport.”
Filming from the terminal, he added: “Yeah, you see, I’m from here. I’m going to travel from Lagos to Abuja and very soon from Abuja to Calabar. Yes, I assure you that I’ll go there because I find job there and I will not lose this job. I will not lose it.”
“I’ll try all my best to go there in a peaceful way. Thank you once again, my dear friends and colleagues. Thank you so much,” he said.
The video follows Liman’s earlier account where he said he was turned away at a Lagos park despite paying for a ticket. “After arriving early in the morning, I paid for my ticket. However, when I went to board the vehicle, the other passengers stated they would not travel with a Fulani man,” he recounted.
His latest post has reignited debate online about ethnic profiling in public transport. Liman did not disclose which airline he used but insisted he would complete the journey to Calabar for work “in a peaceful way.” Watch the video in the comment section.

“This season has been one of the most painful and challenging periods of my life.
From weeks of intense pain, sleepless nights, and being unable to work, it tested my strength in ways I didn’t expect. There were days it felt overwhelming… but I kept pushing through.
Going through treatments, managing recovery, and trying to stay hopeful hasn’t been easy, but I’m grateful for the progress so far. I’m getting better day by day.
To everyone who checked on me, supported me, and stood by me during this time, thank you. I’m truly grateful” 🙏
A word of prayer for him please
