I’m Australian and I love my old school pub rock (Chisel, Oils, AC/DC etc) but I have no inclination to collect any of their music. Only albums that stand out. My next record purchase will be AC/DC’s If You Want Blood You’ve Got It, bc it was the only album featuring Bon Scott

My gut reaction to this new wave of businesses offering music NFTs (eg Gala Music) is that I don’t want to share in artists’ success. I just want to pay for their music and for them to keep the money. I don’t need anything in between.

So the majors raked in over US20M last year. Why can’t they just buy Spotify, considering the latter’s current market loss?

This arrived today, my latest purchase from @discogs I bought it in honour of my parents, whose courting song was Take Me Home Country Roads. Aside from reminding me of them, it reminds of the drive “home” to Warwick from Brisbane, a trip I have done countless times in my life.

The elephant in the room is of course why other artists didn’t also withdraw their music from Spotify. We know why. Spotify know why. Most artists don’t have the financial security that Young does.
