I am SO glad RWBY came out when it did after seeing the responses to Gameoverse and TADC and other indie shows. They would be calling Ruby a loli, Yang "goonbait," they'd be making nazi edits of Weiss (okay they still do that one but whatever) and Blake would be SO sexualized.

@LumpyTheCook It turns out that inundating a generation of kids with piles upon piles of shows, comics, games, toys, and lunch boxes was pretty important for building a cohesive brand for them to get attached to.

Not only was that whole “just you wait, the Star Wars sequels will get the same revisionism the prequels did!” line wrong, but the opposite seems to be happening. People like those movies even less now than they did a decade ago.
