Men who have capacity must not be led around by the nose without the courtesy of consultation, like toddlers, salute to Sen. Abaribe. History must reflect that the opposition was building one formidable coalition alliance until one man broke away for selfish reasons.

Peter Obi didn't receive this type of backlash when he left the PDP for LP. It shows that a lot of people are disappointed with his move to the NDC. Anyways, I'm happy a lot of our people from South East are not sold in. They don't believe his move is in the interest of the SE.

Who remembers Dayo Ekong making mockery of PO just because of Abure, the same woman who wrote a full epistle telling Peter Obi to 'pause and ponder' because of his 'Labour today, ADC tomorrow' jumping and 'waning influence' after losing Edo, Imo, and Anambra... Fast forward to 2026: She herself dumped LP like hot garri and jumped to NDC, where she quickly grabbed the title National Vice Chairman South West. Pastor, the grace wey you advise Obi to check... e don check you first abi? The woman wey call Obi 'disruptive and self-serving' is now busy serving herself a new party position. Hypocrisy never tasted this anointed!
Pst. Dayo Ekong@PstDayoEkong

Reflections on the Labour Party's Challenges: A Call for Peter Obi to Pause and Ponder By Pst Dr Mrs Dayo Ekong, State Chairman, Labour Party, Lagos State As the State Chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, I have watched with growing concern the internal dynamics and external perceptions plaguing our great party. The Labour Party, once a beacon of hope for the masses, is now grappling with issues that threaten its unity and relevance in Nigeria's political landscape. Chief among these is the meddlesome role and evidently waning influence of our former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. While I respect his contributions and the passion he ignited in 2023, it is time for a candid conversation. Mr. Obi must recognize the grace that propelled him in the last election cycle—a divine and collective favor from the party and the electorate—and reflect on how his recent actions are eroding that very foundation. Let us rewind to 2023. Peter Obi enjoyed an extraordinary wave of support, not just from the Labour Party's structures but from a broad coalition of Nigerians yearning for change. Despite the controversies surrounding the election results, where many believe he was robbed of victory, his outing was undeniably successful. He garnered millions of votes, particularly from the youth and disillusioned voters, because the party rallied behind him, and the electorate saw him as a fresh alternative to the status quo. This grace was a combination of factors: the party's platform, grassroots mobilization, and a genuine public desire for integrity in leadership. It was this synergy that allowed him to shine brightly, even in defeat. However, fast-forward to today, and the narrative has shifted. Peter Obi's influence in the Nigerian polity appears to be waning, as Nigerians grow increasingly tired and wary of what some perceive as inconsistent antics and political maneuvering. His interventions, once seen as principled, now risk being viewed as disruptive and self-serving, alienating allies and diminishing his appeal. This is not mere speculation; it is evident in recent electoral outcomes where his endorsements have failed to deliver victories, signaling a loss of the magnetic pull he once commanded. Take the 2024 Edo State governorship election as a prime example. Amid internal party tensions, Peter Obi chose to campaign vigorously for Olumide Akpata, pitching his tent against the preferences of the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure, who wanted to adhere to the political leanings of zoning which the Edo electorate tilted towards, but because of his issues with Abure he stood firm behind Akpata. While Akpata was the official Labour Party candidate, Obi's involvement highlighted factional rifts, with his support seemingly at odds with key party figures. The result? Akpata lost woefully to the APC's Monday Okpebholo, securing only a fraction of the votes despite Obi's rallies and endorsements in Benin and beyond. This defeat in Edo, a state where Labour had shown promise, underscores how Obi's influence no longer guarantees electoral success. Similarly, in the 2023 Imo State gubernatorial election, Obi threw his weight behind Senator Athan Achonu, the Labour Party's candidate. Achonu, backed by Obi's visibility and campaign efforts, was positioned as a strong contender against the incumbent, Hope Uzodimma. Yet, the outcome was another resounding loss, with Achonu failing to unseat the APC governor in a landslide defeat. These back-to-back failures in Imo and Edo raise questions about the effectiveness of Obi's political strategy and whether his touch still carries the transformative power it did in 2023. The most telling blow came recently in the Anambra State by-elections, particularly in Onitsha—Peter Obi's own backyard and supposed stronghold. Here, we witnessed his sudden switch of allegiance, embodying the "Labour today, ADC tomorrow" shenanigans that have confused supporters and diluted party loyalty.

You have your thinking caps on. I've also made a tweet sometime last year saying I don't trust Kwankwaso joining the coalition. Anyways, I wish them all the best as he leads them into a trap.
Ohams 🇨🇦 🇳🇬@Ohams4NewNaija

KWANKWASO IS MOST LIKELY A MOLE In politics, you must be wise. You’re dealing with Tinubu, a political evil genius. Your thinking caps have to be on 24/7. You have to be able to separate emotions from what you’re doing. Step away and have a 360 aerial view of the situation. It is public knowledge that he was in negotiations with Tinubu for VP position for a very long time. He’s the only one coming into the coalition without necessarily having a recent clash with Tinubu. We know Tinubu’s modus operandi. You cannot negotiate with him and not come out with a fair deal. He has no permanent friends and no permanent enemies. Even if Obasanjo is willing to work with Tinubu today for some personal interest, he will be accommodated. That is Tinubu for you. That said, I want to pause to examine NDC. The party engineered by some legal “mistake” of the INEC and Seriake Dickson is the National Leader. No other group that we trust 100% to be anti-Tinubu like the Obidients or all the super powers in the Coalition could register a party. Somehow, Seriake managed to do it. I would be worried. You should be worried. ADC has been coasting fine until they became a serious threat, then El Rufai, the glue and fire of the coalition, is arrested and the party is facing all sorts of legal issues. The next rational move is to exit the party which makes sense. So that was why NDC was allowed to live. To give members of the opposition a place to go to knowing that the whole ADC won’t go there. It’s just going to split the opposition. This is the hand of Tinubu. If you think any party is safe, then you don’t understand Tinubu. Even if it is a brand new party, someone will see N10bn in his account and become a faction tomorrow. The court judgements will begin to favour him. Don’t be stupid. Where do you think all the loans Tinubu has been borrowing is going to? There is enough money to buy off any single low life in any party. So Nafiu Bala joins APC recently and you’re not worried? You cannot see what is happening? All I’m saying is that NDC is not secure also. So there is no rationale to leave ADC because it is battling legal issues. With a snap of the finger NDC will have more than enough legal issues also. Back to Kwankwaso. His tweet has given him away. I slept over it and read his words again and it was as clear as day. Which party leader will begin to undermine the possibility of success of his own party even before the party leaders have reached a unanimous position to exit the party? Is he more desperate to be VP than Atiku is desperate to be president? We all know that Atiku is the most desperate to be president among all the ADC leaders. Why is Atiku still hopefu that ADC will work, but Kwankwaso who just joined few weeks ago is already expressing distrust in the process. No party leader, especially not the calibre of Kwankwaso does this. It is not possible. Secondly, by trying to undermine Atiku publicly in stating that he beat him in the APC 2014 primaries, it is also an effort to cause more rancour in the coalition. With that he has signalled that he is ready to piss off Atiku. It may look normal to an average politics follower. But if you understand Northern politics, you’d understand the weight of that comment. He is acting like he is leading PO out of the coalition. He is attached to PO and pissing Atiku off. It makes it difficult for Atiku to reach any agreements with PO. Lastly, an Kwankwasiya said on a space earlier today that Kwankwasiyas have been instructed to leave ADC for NDC. So this post is just the calm before the storm. The decision has been made. The Kwankwasiya buttressed that upon PO’s refusal to the consensus candidate proposal of Atiku, they agreed to do direct primaries. However, Kwankwaso himself showed Obi the numbers and told him that he won’t win so they should continue their exit plan.m This only points to one thing. Kwankwaso was sent to destroy the coalition. Is there motivation? Yes. 1/2

Peter Obi@PeterObi·
Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
