I swear, in any other game this gets given as a red, if it wasn't for all the criticism and pressure refs have been getting lately for Argentina games, he would've 100% shown the red.

Because the referee gave the wrong player a yellow card so VAR had to intervene. It happened on the USA vs Paraguay game and Enciso was sent off. If Paredes didn't get a yellow then Embolo wouldn't have gotten one.
