How VeryDarkMan urges Plateau youths to ‘restrategise, pick up arms and kill anyone they dont know
By: Zagazola Makama
Popular Nigerian social media personality, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has stirred controversy following a viral video in which he allegedly called on youths in Plateau to “restrategise” and take up arms against perceived strangers in their communities.
In the video, which has since circulated widely across social media platforms, the influencer was heard making statements interpreted as inciting violence amid the tense security situation in parts of Plateau State.
“Anybody you see that is not from here, anybody that looks suspicious, before they get you down, get them down!” he said.
He further urged residents not to rely on government intervention, saying: “If you keep quiet and wait for the government… it won’t be the first time, it won’t be the second time… when does this stop? You promise us security, but nobody is secure!”
The content creator also appeared to call for a shift from passive reactions to active confrontation, stating: “No be only Boko Haram sabi kill, no be only bandit sabi kill. All of us fit kill… all of us na Killers, until you ready. No ever to say you no get the mind. You fit kill person. You can kill people. And for these people oh my God.
He added: “Please protect yourselves and don’t wait for the government.”
He further called on the “To the people of Rukuba Enough is Enough, Enough is Enough. Anybody wey you see wey cross your part, KILL AM
However, few hour’s after his dangerous rhetoric and emotional outbursts violence quickly began to spread in the Northern part of Plateau. The same night, some youths of Rukuba went on rampage and began targeted killings especially in the Muslim communities.
Residents of Plateau have called on security agencies to investigate and possibly prosecute all those who made inflammatory comments widely perceived as inciting violence in the state.

At this point, if any Plateau person is depending on the government for protection, he or she is wasting time.
Islamic jihadist land grabbers have surrounded our mountains and hills, monitoring villages and striking at night. Please, youths or vigilantes should go round and secure lives. Security has failed us. 😡

OVER 2,000 YEARS AGO, ON A WEEKEND THAT WOULD LATER BE LABELED AS AND KNOWN AS "EASTER," A TYRANNICAL REGIME BACKED BY DISHONEST ELDERS, COMPLICIT POLICE, CORRUPT JUDGES, THIEVES, FALSE WITNESSES, MISLEADING JOURNALISTS, AND A REACTIONARY MOB, ENJOYED A FLEETING, PERFUNCTORY MOMENT OF TRIUMPH. IT LASTED ONLY THREE DAYS.
YET THAT MOMENT CHANGED THE WORLD FOREVER.
Easter represents a defining moment in human history, one that forever altered the spiritual and moral imagination of Christians and non-Christians worldwide. It recalls an era when the masses were swept up in hysteria, mobilized to carry out one of humanity's gravest injustices: the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In that moment, even those who knew better were silenced, rendered too afraid or too complicit to stand against a tide of collective wrongdoing.
It was a chilling demonstration of how mass hysteria can legitimize injustice, how an unjust order can be justified by the noise of the crowd rather than the voice of truth.
Yet, Easter does not end in oppression.
It marks a turning point. Though injustice prevailed for a moment, it did not endure. From that darkness emerged a higher consciousness, a resistance to evil, a defiance of tyranny, and ultimately, redemption. The resurrection stands as a timeless reminder that truth, no matter how suppressed, will rise again.
Happy Easter. #FreeBlordNow #RevolutionNOW
