It is interesting to sit and reflect sometimes. Historically ideas of E Cash didn't have anything to do with number go up in fiat terms. Mostly it was about creating free systems in parallel to fiat. Early works were focused on building money systems that no one can shut down or censor that let people coordinate their time, energy, goods, and services freely with some notion of fair coordination and clear assumptions of control. Crypto instead of became positioned and viewed as "uncensorable money". This has largely instead rotated to being a digital asset class priced in fiat, used to speculate on exchange rates to make fiat. This is a very different outcome vs the original intent. It would be good to see more coordination of time, energy, goods, and services used with digital currencies. A lot of work is needed to bootstrap and build the parallel systems.
