Do you know why African-Americans align with so many COVID-19 co-morbidities? Structural racism. Food deserts=unequal access to healthy & fresh foods= diabetes, heart disease. Enviro injustices mean dirty air, water. Greed & neglect, subpar housing=asthma

Being able to feed your baby with your body is the best emergency preparedness plan there is. I hope we all get that mesaage. Our job is to make that an accessible & supported option for all. I pray we come out of this with a new understanding of the stakes involved. #COVID2019

Banerjee: Know that @USbreastfeeding has changed their membership categories to be more inclusive! This even includes local coalitions. #BfFem19

One of biggest things they've done in past 3 years is secure funding to honor grassroots workers. This connects them with emerging leaders they weren't previously aware of #BFFem19

Banerjee: When addressing equity, we need to be mindful to not just build/support it, but to also address things that support inequity or threaten equity. #BfFem19
