@JeffSpeckFAICP In concept, I love the design. In practice, I actively avoid biking through it. Too many pedestrians in the bike lane and cars with low visibility + awareness pulling in/out. Plus the rubber bike lane surface has worn down and is kind of a mess now. :(

Just happened by a blazing balcony fire on 16th St across from Meridian Hill Park. Another bystander and I came across the fire at the same time. He immediately sprinted around the block and appeared ON THE BALCONY spraying a fire extinguisher. 😱 Hero!!! @PoPville

@ninarstepanov @danimberman intriguing. i haven't read nietzsche since college and only meditate occasionally but isn't mediation supposed to be doing nothing intentionally? and that (usually) leads to (more) happiness? however, your theory resonates. pondering.

I have a (working) theory, please note I'm currently reading Nietzsche, that sadness lives very deep inside us. It's inherent. Happiness does and is not. Happiness is like a battery that must be charged to overpower the inherent sadness. Without the charging, sadness overpowers.
