When I was a child, Black Americans were subjected to segregation, riding in the back of buses and having separate water fountains and bathrooms. It’s incredible how far we’ve come in such a short time, yet we still complain about the progress we’ve made. If you want to be treated better, then act the part. Be respectful, educate yourself, and emulate the achievements of individuals like Tyler Perry, Wes Moore, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Clarence Thomas. These are some of the Black Americans who inspire me and whom I would be honored to have dinner with, as I would learn from their experiences.
