The balloon goes up because of the air pushing out from it. When you fill the balloon with air and let it go, the air rushes out from the bottom. This makes the balloon — and the little figurine attached to it — fly upward, kind of like a mini rocket. It’s the air pushing out that gives it the power to go up!
